    DEPARTMENT MANAGER – CONFERENCES

    The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA), a not-for-profit professional association with more than 9,000 members, seeks an experienced individual to oversee the operations and growth of its conference department.

    In this role, you are responsible for developing and delivering several educational conferences for CPA audiences, establishing and fulfilling performance objectives for the department, and providing leadership for two conference coordinators.

    The position requires project management, negotiation, budgeting, contract management and member relation skills.

    Requirements

    ·         Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field

    ·         Prior event management experience

    ·         5-6 years of experience in a program development or event planning leadership position

    ·         Management and supervisory experience

    MTGC Legislative Update – May 10, 2016
    Less than two weeks left in the 2016 legislative session - it is crunch time!  Legislative leadership and the Governor are working to resolve differences in four major areas – taxes, budget, transportation and bonding before the deadline on May 23rd.
     
    Our bill to fund the tourism events pilot project is included in the final negotiations and we need you to contact the conferees to encourage them to support funding for this important program!

    Congrats to our very own Amanda Jamison!
    Governor Dayton announced today that Amanda has been appointed to the Explore Minnesota Tourism Council for a four-year term. The Tourism Council is focused on areas critical to the development and growth of Minnesota tourism.

    Amanda is past president of MNFEA and currently sits on our advisory board. She will be a huge asset to the council. Congratulations, Amanda!
