Event Description
Belle Plaine BBQ Days has been going strong since 1959. This 3-day event brings many families together in many different ways throughout the weekend. From a teen dance to kick things off, to our grand finale of fireworks to end the weekend - there is something for everyone to enjoy! BBQ Days happens every year the 3rd weekend of July.
The Scenic Byway River Run was started in 2010. Rich in agricultural heritage, Belle Plaine is located between the Twin Cities and Mankato and is the last stop on the 287-mile stretch of the MN River Valley Scenic Byway. While running the Half Marathon, enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery as you run along the Scenic Byway loop. Our event also includes a 2 person relay, 5k, kids fun run and 13.1 mile bike tour. This is a family friendly day with bounce houses, face painting, craft fair and prize drawings. The Scenic Byway River Run is usually the 2nd Saturday of October.
