Our industry’s massive loss of experience and training over the last two years has serious consequences that are hard to mitigate. There are no more seasoned, safety-conscious workers to hire, but we know it’s unrealistic to expect old plans to work with green staff. Instead, we will discuss processes featuring sliced cheese and inverted triangles to help you train workers to identify and mitigate the most reasonably foreseeable hazards at your events.
Steven A. Adelman is head of Adelman Law Group, PLLC in Scottsdale, AZ. His practice focuses on risk and safety at live events. Steve is a member of two government task forces created following the Astroworld disaster in Houston. He is Vice President of the Event Safety Alliance and Deputy Chair of the Global Crowd Management Alliance. He is principal author of ANSI ES1.9-2020, the authoritative standard for Crowd Management in the United States. He likes cheese and shapes in his stories.
