Valerie Martin, Founder/Owner of Alpha Agency, LLC
Alpha Agency provides services to private, public-sector and nonprofit clients around the country, specializing in media relations, crisis communications, litigations communications, high-profile clients and internal/external message development. Prior to founding her communications firm in 2002, she served as press secretary/aide to the MN Governor, was director of communications for the MN Supreme Court/Judicial Branch, director of communications for a congressional campaign and has a decade-long background as a radio newscaster and announcer. Valerie is a passionate strategist who excels in managing high-stakes and highly sensitive communications. Her 20+ years of experience have been utilized by clients ranging from CEOs of Fortune 100 and Global 500 companies to numerous nonprofits and advocacy campaigns.
Jon Austin, Senior Partner of J Austin & Associates
He is a communications professional with expertise in issue management, crisis communications, reputation management, internal communications, speechwriting and presentation training, government/public affairs and labor relations. He has worked with more than 300 companies across dozens of industries as well as non-profits and government agencies at the local, state and federal levels. Prior to starting his consultancy in 2006, Austin worked with Fleishman-Hillard and with Northwest Airlines. Prior to his work in the airline industry, he held leadership positions in software development, politics and government. A veteran of more than 20,000 media interviews, Austin has been quoted in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today and has appeared on 60 Minutes, 20/20, The Today Show, ABC World News, CNN, NBC Nightly News, Dateline NBC and numerous other national and international media outlets.
