Cultural Sensitivity for the Accidentally Insensitive
Continuing the conversation about equality and diversity, MNFEA is pleased to welcome back Miss Shannan Paul! Shannan last spoke to our group at the annual conference in Brainerd and she brings the live social experiment to a completely new level by making the results actionable to all of us. Miss Shannan’s discussion on “Cultural Sensitivity for the Accidentally Insensitive" will use personal anecdotes and real world examples to teach the audience how to not “be that person” who walks blindly into awkward situations. Topics include:
Why should you grab a book and learn some?
Stereotypes and Racial Biases:
How do you identify and overcome them.
Can’t we all just get along?
Stumbles and Pitfalls:
How to keep your foot out of your mouth when meeting new people.
Before moving to Minnesota- the “Land of 10,000 Lakes,” Miss Shannan Paul was born and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. Miss Shannan is a regular guest on local TV talk shows speaking on diversity and pop culture. She started her professional career working for Fortune 100 companies including Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America.
